So many swirling thoughts

To-Do Lists on a Monday

Good morning my oversleeping Monday.  My goal is to wake up every morning around 4:30am to at least get my writing in, a 20min Sun Salutation practice, and have some waking peace and quiet.  It is the only time during the day I have completely alone and I LOOOOVE it.  This morning, due to a late night of bedtime yet again, was a 6am waking time.  My kids have fallen into a routine of staying up late in their beds until 9pm, and still waking up before 6:30am.  I have never had the kids that sleep long into the morning hours.  They wake up early, typically screaming for mommy.

I have a lot on my plate this week, so of course after I finally got Mila to sleep I had a swirl of thoughts going on in my head, including to-do's, lists, meal plans I didn't create, fruit I didn't cut, and general anxiety over the launch of my new website.  I don't know why I've put so much pressure on this website launch... maybe it's because my session schedule is light for the fall.  Maybe it's because I really want this business to start thriving.  Maybe it's because I have felt like I've been just tredding water in this world of photography and online blogging for years now and I'm ready to make it to shore.  Any shore, just out of the wide open vastness of amateur land.

Side note: my 3yo daughter just decided to make herself a bed next to my desk as I type.  Now she is angry that I didn't cover her entire body with the blanket she chose to lay with... "I'm mad at you mommy"... and so the joys begin at 6:49am.

Anyways... I find that sometimes my thoughts are clear on what is making me anxious or happy or overwhelmed or excited.  But when I have too many things going on, when a Monday rolls around and I didn't have time to organize my agenda for the week, the swirling of thoughts are endless.  I find putting it down on paper is the only way I deal.

So let's go ahead and take care of my home to-do list... why not?  You're coming with me...

  1. Cut the damn pineapple (it's been over a week, get it done)
  2. Begin meal planning for Back-to-School lunches
  3. Figure out how to pack the new bento lunch boxes I just had to buy based on the mommy-vlog I recently watched on YouTube
  4. Complete the edits for my newborn session
  5. Upload/ cull the wedding from Saturday

Anndddd my kids are screaming for breakfast and my dogs barking at the back door...

I guess I'm done here!

Tomorrow I will wake up at 4:30am...
